On 24th August 2016, The Khalique Foundation and Darjeeling Express hosted an exclusive Bangladeshi pop-up dining experience at Anise, part of the Cinnamon Club Collection.

The evening was a sell out and the event was to raise funds for the Khalique Foundation and celebrate Bengali food, culture and fashion.

Asma Khan of Darjeeling Express - recently in residence at the Sun & Three Cantons in Soho – produced a stunning chef’s tasting menu. This was a delicious journey in the vibrant flavours of home-cooked Bengali food. Tom Parker Bowles described her food as “some of the best Indian cooking you can find...” whilst Fay Maschler noted the “reverberating buzz among the coterie that gossip avidly about the adventure of their bellies”.

There was also a raffle and kaftans on sale and the economist Mushtaq Khan, a professor at SOAS talked about the potential of Bangladesh and the successes.

Asma, the Cinnamon Club and Anise donated their services for free and the award winning Cinnamon Kitchen and Michelin starred Quilon donated raffle prizes.

Lots of money raised and a fun night.
